  1. Cambodia faced many civil wars in its past. For example, the Khmer king, Ang Snguon, ordered a massacre and about only 20 women and children survived. North Korea is currently facing corruption by the dictator Kim Jong-Un, but most people are not fighting him, so it is not a civil war. For instance, the people of North Korea worship him even if he treats all people harshly. Also, Kim Jong-Un is similar to Ang Snguon because he too is killing his people by starving them and keeping them in poverty.

  3. The Khmer Rouge and the Kim Dynasty are both dictatorships. The Khmer Rouge, during its rule, committed massacres of ethnic minorities. The Rouge would kill off Vietnamese in Cambodia, Buddhists, Chinese and Muslims. The Kim Dynasty didn't exactly kill off ethnic minorities, but removed the citizens civil rights. The citizens of North Korea do not dislike the Kim dynasty because they don't know what would happen to their country without it. The citizens of Cambodia did not appreciate the rule of the Khmer Rouge. Also, the Khmer Rouge ruled for only 4 years and the Kim Dynasty is still ruling today, for the past three generations.

  4. The history, and prolonged suffering of the Cambodian Genocide is a piece of history that makes Southeast Asia a part of the land that it is today, due to the mass murder and discrimination. The rule of the Khmer Rouge of Cambodia was incredibly violent, and the people were constantly fighting with the dictator because of their dislike of him. These "Civil Wars" were much different than the situations with Kim Jong-Un in North Korea because of the way that the people are brainwashed in order to love and worship their "supreme leader." These two situations are very different because of the manner of ruling, and the reactions of the people.

  5. Kim Jong-Un is the dictator of North Korea and as a result there has been a lot of malnutrition and death. Similarly, the Khmer king, Ang Snguon, is also a dictator. In 1751 he gave orders for troops to massacre all Vietnamese, which caused the deaths of all but twenty. In sum, both have caused serious harm to large amounts of people.

  8. The rule of the Khmer Rogue in 1975-1979 deeply affected the history of Cambodia and all of Southeast Asia. The Khmer Rouge turned all of Cambodia into a detention center and slaughtered around 2 million people. This is similar to North Korea today but Kim Jong Un does not randomly kill off millions of people. However, the people in Cambodia under Khmer Rouge hated Ang Snguon for his harsh rule and dictatorship. People in North Korea believe that Kim Jong Un is a god who never does anything wrong.

  10. The ruling during the Khmer Rouge and the Kim Dynasty in North Korea are similar because they both involve a communist dictator. The Khmer Rouge led to much death and torture, this could cause for North Korea to be this way in the future. This would be a huge problem on the global stage.

  11. The Khmer Rouge and the Kim Dynasty both created a communist system which negatively affected their people. During the Khmer Rouge they would kill their own members and politicians just like when Kim Jong Un ordered that his uncle's entire family be killed. The entire country of Cambodia became like a concentration camp under the Khmer Rouge and North Korea is similar to that because they also monitor, watch, and control their people.

  12. The Kim dynasty in North Korea and the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia are similar because they have both starved their people, resulting in many deaths. Within that four year period that the Khmer Rouge ruled, there were about two million deaths, accumulated through starvation, disease, and forced labor. Due to this vast number of deaths, this is refereed to as the Cambodian Genocide. The Kim dynasty also does things along these lines as well. North Korea has many camps where people may be sent to and many will never see outside of them again. The people in these camps survive through harsh, inhumane treatment. This includes torture, starvation, diseases, and even executions. However, these killings have not been considered a genocide, like in Cambodia, since it isn't an extremely large group of people within a small amount of time. The Kim dynasty also falls under a dictatorship and the Khmer Rouge has a communist party with the leaders presiding over a totalitarian dictatorship.

  13. Kim Jong-Un and the Khmer Rouge are similar in terms of that they are both dictator figures. Both have caused many deaths in their controlled population. Those of North Korea suffer from malnutrition and a lack of medical assistance, which causes disease and hunger. Those of the Khmer Rough in Cambodia had suffered from disease, forced labor, and starvation, and that four year period is now considered the Cambodian Genocide. The Kim dynasty is still in rule today, while the Khmer Rouge is no longer in power.

  14. The rule of Khmer Rouge and the Kim Dynasty of North Korea have several similarities. First, they control what their citizens learn heavily. The North Koreans strictly regulate the press to make themselves look good. Similiarly, the Khmer Rouge heavily regulates what students read about the history of their country in school textbooks. Secondly, both regimes have killed many of the inhabitants of thier respective countries. Lastly, both countries have been attacked by the United States through military action, and the rulers use this hardship to form a nationalism.

  15. The ruler of Korea, Kim Jing-Un, and the ruler of Khmer Rouge have many traits in common. In North Korea, Kim rules all his citizens with full dictatorship. Kim limits what his citizen learn and how they express themselves. The same follows for the Khmer Rouge. They limit what their people learn as well. Also, both have caused many deaths under their ruling. Khmers Rouge created forced laborers, accumulated starvation, and disease. That is now known as the Cambodia Genocide. In North Korea, under the ruling of the Kim Dynasty there is malnutrition, and a lack of medical assistance. There are extreme hunger and diseases. The difference between the two, is that Kim Dynasty is still in power, but the Khmer Rouge is no longer in power.

  17. The ruler of Korea, Kim Jing-Un, and the ruler of Khmer Rouge have various characteristics that they practice in common. The most obvious characteristic in with both leaders practice is a government run by complete dictatorship. Both communities under these dictatorships suffer various physical diseases, mental diseases, and malnutrition. Also another main component that both rulers practice, is violent outbreaks among their people, and the various killing sprees of many of their citizens. The main component that these to leaders differ in is Kim Jin-Un does not engage in civil or world wide world, whereas Cambodia engages in wars. Also the last different is that Kim Jin-Un still remains in power, and Khmer Rouge is no longer the leader of Cambodia.

  19. One difference is that in Cambodia there were civil wars, while in North Korea, although the people are ruled by a single dictator Kim Jong-Un, there have not been any revolts. There are no revolts or uprisings partially because of the brainwashing done by the North Korean government. But a similarity is that both have been run by dictatorships.

  20. Kim Jing-Un, and Khmer Rouge have many similarities such as the fact that they both have strict rule over their people. Both governments are also dictatorships, which means both rules have power in any sphere. Another similarity it that both leaders are killing their people through means of starvation. A difference though between the two is that there have been no uprisings by the North Korean people but, there have been civil wars carried out by the people of Cambodia.

  21. The Kim dynasty and the Khmer Rouge are both communist dictatorships, however they lead their people in very different styles. Both empires have a strict policy against people who do not agree with the government. However, the Kim dynasty has yet to kill a huge amount of people due to disagreeing with their government. Also, the Kim dynasty rules through propaganda; the people of North Korea truly believe what their supreme ruler does is right. The people of Cambodia often do not agree with their leader, but are forced to, through violence.

  22. Some similarities between The Kim dynasty and the Khmer rouge is that they are both controlling communist dictators. One way that both of these dictators try to keep their people from revolting is that they don't feed them enough. This makes the people starve and not be able to fight back. A difference is that the people who are under The Kim dynasty respect their leader and worship him. But the people in the Khmer rouge don't respect their leader and don't like him.
