  1. I predict that East Timor will begin to become more independent with how it evolves itself economically, rather than using the donors as they did in the past, because this will help them learn to make their own decisions with their country as well as learn what they need to fund. Altogether, with the increasing independence of the country, there will be an increase of success and economic stability.

  2. I predict that Timor's economy will build and become more stable. The four political parties have come together to form a single, more stable government. This will lead to political and economic development.

  3. My prediction for East Timor is that it will develop a stable economy and a proper governmental system. Since the government of East Timor is making efforts to confront developmental challenges, they will eventually overcome them. Right now, donors are encouraged to support East Timor through these developmental challenges. They will no longer need donors for support when they develop a stable economy.

  4. I predict that East Timor will build a more stable economy and government. They are making great strides to develop, which they hope to happen in future years. Also, East Timor will no longer need donors that they have been using once their economy can support itself.

  5. My prediction for East Timor is that they will slowly but surely be able to support themselves and be able to establish a stable economical status while also supporting a stable governmental system. As East Timor progresses the y will start to steer away from the reliance of donors to help assist in their developmental issues. Therefore the effort being put in to better themselves and create a reliable system will allow them ultimately to progress to becoming a thriving nation that has the ability to support themselves while showing a strong reliable governmental system and economic status. It might take alittle time but East Timor is heading in the right way.

  6. I believe that East Timor will begin to have a better economy and government. They are already starting to develop which means they actually have at least a small chance of becoming stable. East Timor will not need help from other countries so they can have their own self sufficient economy.

  7. I predict East Timor will continue to grow and develope and eventually become a stable country. Even though many technical jobs there are taken by foreigners and almost half of the country lives in poverty there are signs of hope. In 2001 70% of their buildings were non-existant and the country had little electricity but fast forward to today and we see a much higher GDP per capita, petroleum funds bringing in money, and also new buildings being built. This is why I say East Timor will have a bright future.

  8. I predict the East Timor will start advancing and becoming more independent economically. They will start to shift from using donors to making their own decisions in economics which will make them more independent as a country. Since the government has put together the four political parties into one stable government, I predict they will soon begin to advance economically.

  11. I do think that East Timor will become more stable with time. In February of 2010, the first anti-corrupt commissioner was sworn in and it shows that East Timor is definitely moving in the right direction.

  12. I predict that East Timor will continue to strive towards stability amongst their government system, as well as there economic stance. I believe this because East Timor over the years have fought to regain their independence, and succeeded in doing so, and has slowly changed the economic stance of the region. Also the new commissioner symbolizes the change of stability the is occurring currently.

  13. I predict that East Timor will continue to regain stability over the government, and their economic position. I believe this because after World War 2 occurred, and East Timor was decolonized, the East Timor native people began to fight for independence. Also in 1970, when an genocide occurred against the East Timor people, at the hands of the Indonesia's government; it raised a lot of awareness for the East Timor native people. When awareness was raised, the East Timoreans then began to promote nationalism for their home land, and eventually succeeded in gaining independence in 2009. The reason I believe they will strive for stability now is because they have come so far, and are willing to do anything to remain independent, because they do not want reoccurring genocide's under Indonesia or Portuguese control.

  15. I think that East Timor will eventually crumble as a self sufficient country and will have to be annexed by Indonesia in order to succeed as a nation. East Timor relies on foreign aid and imports with hardly any internal sources of self sufficiency due to the small size of this country. The country's poverty will be one of the most difficult problems due to reliance on foreign aid with little to no internal economy.

  16. I believe East Timor will fail as a nation, despite how hard the inhabitants work. They do not have the resource to be self-sufficient. They rely heavily on foreign aid and without resources, paying off their debt will be very difficult. Also, almost all of the natives are poor, so setting up industry will be problematic as well.

  17. I think that the East Timor will continue to gain power and stability. I believe that this will happen because they are trying to be more independent and not rely on outside parties.
